BOA PRESENTATION CEREMONY AND SEMINAR
5 NOV 2011, 8.30 AM, GRAND HYATT SINGAPORE
The Board of Architects (BOA) will be holding a half-day seminar in conjunction with the 2011 Certificate Presentation Ceremony on 5 Nov at 8.30 am at The Gallery, Grand Hyatt Singapore, 10 Scotts Road, Singapore 228211.
The seminar will cover updates on the implementation of the ASEAN and APEC Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRA) and the Learning Points gleaned from Investigation and Disciplinary Cases handled by the Board. BOA will also share the new amendments to the Architects Act which will be implemented in 2012.
Another significant topic which is of great interest to practising architects will the sharing on the Roles and Responsibilities of the Architect : A Re-Examination. The sharing will begin with an introspective examination on how the Architects Act had defined architectural services; the legal, contractual and social roles an architect plays in society, in project stages and the areas of focus and capabilities. It will further examine the major external forces that influence the modern day architect particularly in relation to the knowledge economy, globalization, specialization and sustainability. Faced with such diversity and the clients' varied demands, architectural QPs will find this sharing extremely beneficial in determining their contractual commitments thereby minimizing
misunderstandings and unnecessary complaints by clients.
The final segment will be a Q&A session to be moderated by the Registrar.
The programme and seminar details are attached. You are invited to register for this seminar by completing the attached registration form and returning it to BOA with your payment of $110/- by 17 Oct 11. Lunch will be provided and all participants will be given 8 CPD points for attendance.
In view of space constraint, registration will be on a first-come first-served basis.
I look forward to meeting you at the seminar.
Yours sincerely
