Board of Architects Professional Practice Examination 2026
(1) The Board of Architects will be holding a Professional Practice Examination tentatively set for November/December 2026. All successful applicants will be duly informed of the examination date.
(2) Graduates from the National University of Singapore (NUS), the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) and other recognised Schools of Architecture, who wish to sit for the examination must have registered as Professional Practice Examination Candidates and obtained not less than twenty-four (24) months of practical experience in architectural work. This should include practical experience in architectural work in Singapore for a continuous period of at least twelve (12) months.
(3) All candidates are required to attend an Architectural Practice Course which will be conducted by the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) on behalf of the Board. Candidates are required to attain 75% attendance for the entire course to be eligible to sit for examination.
(4) The Oral Examination will be conducted in the first quarter of 2027. Only eligible candidates will be notified.
(5) Candidates who wish to apply to sit for PPE 2026 are required to submit the following:
(A) Documents to be submitted via POST:
The following documents must be mailed to the Board of Architects at 5 Maxwell Road # 01-03 Tower Block MND Complex Singapore 069110 via postal services. Do not drop the application off at our counter or email it to BOA.
(i) Application form for admission to PPE 2026
(ii) Application for registration as an Architect
(iii) 2 copies of qualification papers (such as degree, diploma etc.)
(iv) 2 copies of transcript for the above degree/diploma (showing subjects and examination results)
(v) 2 character reference letters from the two referees you have stated in Section E of Form 1 – Application for registration
(vi) 1 copy of NRIC/Passport (showing name and NRIC/Passport number corresponding to the information in the application forms)
(B) Documents to be submitted via FORMSG:
I) Practical Experience Log book and Case Study
PPE Candidates are required to upload the soft copies of the following documents onto Dropbox and submit the shared links via this submission form.
(i) Practical Experience Logbook
(ii) Professional Case Study

II) Acknowledgement form for BOA Circular on Subsidy for Architectural Practice Course
PPE candidates must read the notice on the Subsidy for Architectural Practice Course and complete the online acknowledgement form.
(C) Fees payable:

Notes:
(a) Examination fees are not refundable.
(b) Payment can now be made via PayNow and Internet Banking.
(c) Please refer to our website for the instructions for making payment via PayNow or Internet Banking.
(d) Candidates who are making payment via PayNow or Internet Banking are required to take note of the following:
(i) In the comments section, indicate your name followed by your contact number. For eg. AydenWongYiden 91234567
(ii) Take a screenshot of the completed transaction and email it to boa_enquiry@boa.gov.sg.
(iii) Please specify the following information in your email:
- Subject: Fee for Application for PPE 2026
- Name of candidate

- Date of remittance
- Amount
(6) All applications must reach BOA by 5pm, 15 May 2026 (Friday). Applications that are submitted late or are incomplete may be disqualified.
(7) Use of E-signatures
For examination application purposes, the Advisor, Supervisor, Employer and Character Referees may sign the following documents electronically:
- Log book
- Case study
- Letters confirming the review of the case study (Supervisor/Advisor)
- Letter confirming approval of the case study (Employer)
